Democrat Barack Obama has raised a record $600 million in fund-raising, but according to Bloomberg.com, it isn't turning into an ad bonanza for stations. Blame a lack of competitive Senate races, the
sluggish economy and John McCain's acceptance of campaign spending limits. Stations that projected bigger gains in a political year have been surprised and disappointed. Campaign spending on local TV
will fall to $984.3 million from 2004's $1.05 billion, per Borrell Associates.
