ABC Radio Distributes Style, Via Comcast Nets

The stars are out--on radio.

ABC Radio and Comcast Entertainment are beefing up their celebrity factor by signing a distribution and product development agreement that brings branded content from E! Entertainment, The Style Network and G4 to radio for the first time.

Program offerings will include celebrity and entertainment news from Comcast's E!, women's lifestyle programming from Style and the latest on technology and video games from G4. All content will be available to stations on-air and online.

Consider it a cross-platform effort to reach key adults.

The brand recognition among the three networks, according to Carol Anderson, senior vice president of programming and distribution for ABC Radio, is part of its "commitment to delivering compelling content for the 18-49 demographic to our affiliates." He said ABC will jointly develop the content with Comcast.

John Najarian, executive vice president of digital media and business development for Comcast Entertainment, adds that the deal offers fans "a new way to connect with and enjoy E!, Style and G4 programming."

E! supplies radio-formatted news and information in addition to broadband video content for stations' Web sites. It will also create original shows for radio and digital platforms, such as "E! News Now."

Style promotes stories on beauty, fashion, home and wedding planning--while G4, which reaches the sought-after young male audience, focuses on gadget and tech updates, in addition to video game previews and reviews.

ABC Radio Networks has 4,400 affiliate radio stations reaching more than 105 million listeners in the 12+ demographic each week.
