The mood was "dark," Suzanne Smalley reports, as Republican governors gathered at a meeting in Miami last week "to try to rebuild a brand badly tarnished at the polls." But pollster Frank Luntz, who mediated a panel at the gathering, took a forward-looking approach while acknowledging the current disarray of the GOP: "Normally, when I do these presentations it is done in private, but the [Republican governors] wanted the American people to know that they understand what happened in this election and this is the beginning, not the end."
