Food Network Doles Out Mobile Holiday Fare

  • November 28, 2008
The Food Network is going mobile via a partnership with MediaFLO USA, a unit of Qualcomm, that will distribute the cable network's programming on AT&T's mobile TV service during the holiday season.

Marking the first mobile venture by Scripps Networks, parent of the Food Network, the deal allows cell phone users to snack on programming tidbits from network talent including Paula Dean, Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis and Rachael Ray. The focus is on cooking around Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year's and bowl game celebrations.

The agreement also includes content from other Scripps properties including HGTV, the DIY Network and the Fine Living Network. The Food Network's holiday mobile effort goes until Feb. 3.--Mark Walsh
