PowerAdz.com To Offer Extensive Olympic Coverage
Aug 21, 2000, 11:43 AM
PowerAdz.com, through its online newspaper network, Zwire!, will be providing readers of more than 1,400 online newspapers with complete up-to-the-hour news coverage from the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia this fall.
Beginning with pre-Olympic coverage starting September 10, and continuing beyond the closing ceremonies in October, the in-depth coverage will include daily event schedules, results, medal standings and updates from over 30 different Olympic sports, supplemented with statistics, athlete profiles, Olympic facts and history, and daily weather reports from Sydney.
The Olympic news coverage, provided through a private label agreement between PowerAdz.com and SportsTicker®, a service of ESPN®, allows Zwire! affiliates to add their own local news to the Olympics section, and have an opportunity to attract local advertisers eager to take advantage of the additional exposure.
A local footwear or sporting goods store, for example, could be featured alongside coverage of track and field meets or swimming events.
On behalf of its Zwire! affiliates, PowerAdz.com is signing national advertisers interested in geo-targeting consumers in local markets across the country. National advertising revenue will be shared, 50/50, with Zwire! affiliates based on their share of network traffic.
