The Survivor finale Wednesday night was second only to the Super Bowl as the year’s most watched program. The two-hour ending attracted 51.01 million viewers and the special reunion show with Bryant Gumbel another 39.7 million, according to fast-national ratings information from Nielsen Media Research. CBS execs also announced that the entire Survivor run, from the first day on the island through last night’s finale, will be replayed during the upcoming Summer Olympics. CBS will carry Survivor every night (except Sundays) from Sept. 15 through Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. PT/ET. The two-hour finale attracted more viewers than this past season’s Academy Awards (49.6 million viewers) and scored a 22.4 rating/54 share in adults 18-49.
