Honda, Fox Partner For Music Promotion

Until Jan. 9, marching band fans can log onto www.myspace.com/hondabattleofthebands and vote for their favorite band that is participating in the Honda Battle of the Bands Invitational Showcase.

The two schools that receive the highest number of votes will get to select one student-musician from their ensemble to be awarded a spot in the internship program. Final student selections will be made by university band directors. The two winning students who are selected to participate in the internship program will be announced on Jan. 24 at the 7th annual Honda Battle of the Bands Invitational Showcase event at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The program is sponsored by American Honda and Fox Entertainment Group. It is designed to offer a unique internship program designed to expose student-musicians from America's Historically Black Colleges and Universities to the music and entertainment industry. --Nina Lentini
