Horizon Media Forms New Units With $70 Million In Billings

  • July 5, 2000
Carl Kotheimer, Executive VP and Director of Marketing Services of Horizon Media, announced today major changes in the independent firm's Media Planning Group - the formation of two specially-focused stand alone units, Horizon Interactive and Horizon Out of Home, that will bring enhanced services to current clients and serve as a platform for growth for new business.

"These two media, while different in so many ways, share an equally bright future," Kotheimer said. "Out of home is the "oldest" medium and online the newest; out of home cuts a broad demographic swath while online can be highly targeted. Both media types, however, will be increasingly important as advertisers struggle with the decreasing effectiveness of the traditional media."

Horizon Out of Home is lead by Matthew Leible, Director of Out of Home Media, who comes to Horizon from a 5-year tenure with Outdoor Services, Inc. The new unit opens up with $50 million in billings.

Horizon Interactive, responsible for the firm's Internet, e-commerce and technology initiatives on behalf of its clients, is being headed by Shazi Visram, Interactive Specialist. The new unit opens up with $20 million in online billings.
