DTV Delay Defeated By GOP

President Obama got his first setback--House Republicans defeated a bill to delay the digital transition. The new administration had wanted to delay the transition until June 12; it now remains at Feb. 17. The GOP said a delay would burden wireless companies and public safety agencies and create added costs for TV stations, per AP. Nielsen Co. estimates more than 6.5 million U.S. households, many poor and rural, are still unprepared for the change.
