I couldn't help but see this second year of the Cannes Health Lions through my motherhood eyes. For many of us, raising a two-year-old brings great joy, pride, excitement, wonder, the feeling "I am getting this!" And on-and-off frustrations. (And yes, the occasional tantrum!) This year's Cannes Health Lions, themed, "Life Saving Creativity" showed all the signs of the important second year of life. We are stronger, with attendance up one third, with more than 800 delegates. We are spreading our wings and we are challenging ourselves.
Lions Health Day Two Reflection in
If Day 1 was all about being bold, Day 2 was a roller coaster ride of bravery. Each session was very different. They tapped on emotions of frustration, hope, awe, imagination, entertainment, empathy, laughter and a night roaring with the first ever Health Lions Award show -- from challenging ourselves to ask what would happen if Apple got into health?" Would there be genius bars to diagnose and heal? At the local level? Easy to navigate? And intuitive? And connecting us all?
Health Lions Day One Reflection in
Hermes, Gucci, Louis Vuitton. The anticipation builds as I get closer to the Palace. The sun is beating down, the boulevard is pulsing and the crowd is building. Everyone is looking at the signs flapping in the wind --"Lions Health" Yes, Healthcare is now here. In Cannes. Taking its place next to Microsoft, ATT, Spotify and more. An earned right. But what to expect? The first session of the first day set the stage.
