vivendiVivendi, the marketer of "Rock Band" and a minority owner of NBC Universal, has launched a campaign targeting investors, highlighting its diverse portfolio.

 

Debuting in publications in the United Kingdom and its home country of France, the effort carries the tagline: "world leader in communications and entertainment."

Vivendi's businesses span content and distribution, and each is represented by a planet in a would-be "Vivendi galaxy" in the ads. A French arm of Euro RSCG is behind the effort.

Vivendi's holdings include Activision Blizzard (marketer of video games "Rock Band" and "World of Warcraft"); Universal Music Group (with artists Kanye West and Maroon 5); a French mobile phone and broadband provider; and the Canal+ Group production business. The company also owns 20% of NBC Universal.

The campaign comes after the company reported 2008 results, in which revenues increased 17%. Vivendi's share price was trading down 32% Monday from a 52-week high.
