The Weather Channel announced that PAUL IAFFALDANO will become executive vice president and general manager of TWC Media Solutions. Iaffaldano will oversee and have leadership responsibility for all advertising sales functions of The Weather Channel and weather.com. Most recently, Iaffaldano was senior vice president of network sales and advertising product development. He replaces LYN ANDREWS.

The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) named JOHN A. GRECO JR. president and CEO. Greco, former president-CEO of the Yellow Pages Integrated Media Association and a longtime marketing executive, will take over on August 16, succeeding H. ROBERT WIENTZEN, who will retire following nearly eight years as the Association's chief.

Advertising.com has named ROBERT FORMENTIN to the position of vice president of advertiser services. Formentin will be charged with overseeing the company’s regional sales offices and sales support functions.

JAY KNOTT has joined ID Media as account supervisor, responsible for helping manage the account teams housed in the Los Angeles office. Prior to joining ID Media, Knott served as consolidated print supervisor for Carat USA's Irvine, California office, supervising the consolidated contract negotiation and buying of national magazine space for Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motors America.

PRIMEDIA promoted STEVEN ASTER to president of consumer marketing for the company's Enthusiast Media Group. Aster will be responsible for marketing products related to the company's special interest magazines directly to consumers by using the company's extensive database. Aster joined PRIMEDIA in 2000 as an executive vice president of PRIMEDIA's consumer magazine group.

Hill, Holliday Hispanic named PAULA OTERO as management supervisor in the agency's Miami office. She will oversee account management on CVS/pharmacy. Otero was most recently senior account executive at The Bravo Group, where she worked on ad campaigns for AT&T Long Distance Services and Lucky Dog Phone Company.

JOHN BOLAND has joined Redbook magazine as associate publisher. Boland comes from MORE magazine where he served as national sales director. Prior to that he held publisher positions at Backpacker Magazine and Expedia Travel Magazine.

ADAM MOSKOW has joined UnREAL Marketing Solutions as vice president of accounts & operations. He oversees the Account Department, handles operational issues and is in charge of building out the new small business division. Previous to joining UnREAL, Moskow was COO and partner for S&D Marketing, a direct marketing/customer acquisition firm.

24/7 Real Media announced that ROBERT TAS has joined the company as senior vice president for Technology Solutions for North America. Tas's responsibilities will include sales, marketing and account management for 24/7's Open Ad System. Tas joined 24/7 from Tacoda Systems, Inc.

Dotomi named JIM ALLA as senior vice president of sales and LAURENCE STOCK as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Most recently, Alla served as senior vice president of technology sales for 24/7 Real Media, where he led the technology sales and account management teams. Stock comes to Dotomi after serving as COO for IMN, Inc., an e-marketing service provider.

Horizon Media has created a Direct Response Planning Group in an effort to expand its direct marketing capabilities and further support the growing needs of its clients. GENE TURNER, who joined Horizon in 2003, has been promoted to associate director of direct response planning and will head the group. Turner came to Horizon after four years at Wunderman.

Bauer Publishing USA promoted NEIL GOLDSTEIN to the newly created position of publisher for its teen division of titles which includes J-14, TWIST and M. He formerly held the title of associate publisher for this group. Goldstein will manage the group's day-to-day operations with a focus on developing multi-platform marketing programs and integrated sales opportunities for advertisers across the division's titles.

TV Guide Television Group, a division of Gemstar-TV Guide Int'l, has announced three appointments to the Company's marketing group. MARGOT DAVIS has been named vice president, marketing & promotions, responsible for developing and executing all national consumer marketing and promotion campaigns, and overseeing the development of third party partnerships. TODD MCNULTY has been named vice president, on air promotions, responsible for the overall strategy, creative and production of on-air campaigns, promotion and branding. Lastly, MELISSA VAN METER has been named vice president, marketing & advertising, responsible for developing targeted national consumer advertising initiatives and day-to-day management of TV Guide Television Group's advertising agency.

Forbes.com named TODD BOWMAN as regional sales manager in the New York office. Bowman joins Forbes.com from adMarketplace, where he was responsible for business development and sales.

Novus Print Media has hired DAVID M. JACK and TOM J. COOK, both formerly of the Newspaper National Network to open up and lead its New York Office operations. They will be responsible for expanding Novus's national advertising client base.

Arbitron named JOAN E. GERBERDING as vice president of sales for Arbitron Outdoor. Gerberding will be responsible for helping to build the Outdoor Division of Arbitron New Ventures. She most recently was the president of Nassau Media Partners, formerly a division of Nassau Broadcasting Partners, in Princeton, N.J.

MediaCom U.S. has promoted MICHELE KRUMPER to senior vice president-management supervisor, up from vice president-management supervisor. She will be responsible for managing all planning and buying activities for Subway. A retail media expert, she was appointed retail planning director in 2000. Prior to joining MediaCom, Krumper was a network supervisor at Bates.

The Advertising Council has promoted two staff members: ELLYN FISHER to director, corporate communications, and BETH COSTIGLIO to manager, corporate communications. Fisher joined the Ad Council in July 2001 as manager, corporate communications. Fisher will continue working on press relations and targeted press outreach as well as speechwriting for several members of the Ad Council’s senior staff. Responsible for tracking and reporting on all press clippings and broadcast placements for each campaign, Costiglio joined the Ad Council in Feb. 2002 as coordinator, corporate communications.

DIANE BURSTEIN, DEBBIE KNIFFIN, and MASON WELLS join the Best Life advertising team as marketing director, grooming/luxury goods director, and consumer goods director, respectively. Burstein most recently served as director of corporate creative services for Gruner + Jahr USA; Kniffin most recently was with Condé Nast Publications, serving as beauty and luxury goods director of Bon Appétit, among other roles; and Wells joins the magazine after serving as NY/Southeast ad director of MIT’s Technology Review.

STEVE PLEVIN has been named vice president, sales, of LowCarb Living magazine. Also joining the magazine as Midwest sales manager is JASON THACH. Plevin comes to LowCarb Living from Mac Publishing, where he was most recently publisher/vice president, sales, of Macworld magazine. Thach was previously business development manager/national sales manager for Apple Computer's Apple Macintosh Products Guide Website.

BILL WALDMAN, advertising manager for General Motors’ Cadillac division, joins GOLF Magazine’s Detroit sales office as account executive. Waldman will be responsible for the magazine's Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep accounts as well as all non-automotive sales accounts in Michigan and Ohio. Prior to his role as advertising manager for General Motors’ Cadillac account, Waldman served as advertising manager for Chevy Trucks.

AL BARRAZA has formed Barraza & Associates, a consulting and research firm that helps clients define business opportunities, identify unmet customer needs, and build brand loyalty. Barraza was formerly a senior marketing manager with Allstate Insurance.

HARRISON SCHAFFER, formerly of Tribune Interactive and MediaNews Inc., has joined Network Communications as the Western regional manager for online sales. In this position he oversees the online sales efforts for nearly 100 market properties in the West.

McClain Finlon has promoted MEGAN FEARNOW from group account director to director of account services. She will now lead strategic direction and oversee management for all agency accounts. Fearnow has been at McClain Finlon for six years, as brand director, then group account director. Previously, as account supervisor at Hill, Holliday, Boston, she managed Fleet Bank, Fidelity and Sony Electronics, among other accounts.
