Trademob, a European mobile app marketing platform, this week announced plans to expand into the United States. The company will move five to 10 employees into New York City full-time “in the coming months," according to a release. In addition to the expansion into New York City, Trademob announced plans to open a San Francisco office within three months. “This expansion will allow us to be more competitive in terms of attracting great talent and introducing our offering to app advertisers,” stated Ravi Kamran, founder and CEO of Trademob. The company currently has about 50 employees, but the release says they plan to increase that number to 80 or 100 over the next year.
San Francisco-based UBM TechWeb, a technology media and professional information provider, yesterday announced the expansion of their Online Marketing Summit (OMS) to Silicon Valley. In addition, the company announced Shannon Ryan as GM of the OMS for Silicon Valley. After a successful OMS San Diego in February, the company says moving to Silicon Valley will help connect more marketers with the knowledge their summit provides. “It’s an exciting time to take the helm of the leading digital marketing brand,” stated Ryan. Gannett Co. Inc. announced Tuesday it was acquiring social media marketing firm Blinq Media to help build out its digital marketing services for brands and agencies. Blinq is based in New York but has offices in San Francisco. OnlineMediaDaily reported on August 21 that Blinq will remain a separate entity within Gannett and maintain its New York City headquarters and sales and support offices in San Francisco, London, Chicago, Boston, and Los Angeles.
