    American Media, Inc. owners of the National Enquirer, announced the acquisition of Weider Publications for $350 million. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2003, and includes the Weider publications Muscle & Fitness, Flex, Muscle & Fitness Hers and Men's Fitness, with a combined readership of 15 million. Also included are Shape, Fit Pregnancy and Natural Health, with an average readership of 8 million.
