Santa ditches his sleigh to fly coach in an Expedia.com ad. Coach, the brand, teams up with the Peanuts gang.
  • footlockerFoot Locker launched a great 60-second TV spot starring NBA player Russell Westbrook offering up some extreme motivation to a teen who believes he can fly when wearing the new Jordan 29s. To be like Mike, you need to put in the hard work before your face and name are known worldwide. So the teen is put through a rigorous workout that happens to use every sports advertising cliche possible: he's woken in the wee hours of the morning with a glass of cold water thrown on him, eats a raw egg for breakfast, hears classic theme music, endures a kettlebell workout and having Spike Lee tell him he can't play. The kid works out until he's spent and arrives home and falls asleep in his sweaty clothes. Westbrook gets another glass of water and throws it on the teen. "If it's here, it's approved," closes the ad, seen here, and created by BBDO New York.

  • emmittsmithGiven the digital age that we live in, things like autograph signings sound almost archaic. XFINITY Sports is keeping autograph signings current by placing a digital spin on the act. The brand enlisted NFL to participate in #SignMyTweet. From Nov. 23 to Nov. 24, fans could tweet @XFINITYSports using the hashtag #SignMyTweet for a chance to get their tweet signed by Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith. Then, during a live Twitter signing Nov 24, selected tweets were printed and hand-signed by Smith, and the autographed tweets were mailed to winners as a souvenir. Smith signed a whopping 400 autographs during the two-hour signing. Check out a video of the Twitter signing here. I especially love what Smith did to the tweet that said the "Cowboys suck." Goodby Silverstein & Partners created the campaign.

  • burgerkingFollowing a 40-year hiatus, Burger King has brought back the YUMBO Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwich for a limited time. The sandwich features black forest ham, melted American cheese, lettuce and mayo on a toasted hoagie bun. Originally launched in 1968, the Yumbo was removed from the menu in 1974. To introduce the sandwich to a modern-day audience, Pitch turned back time in one Los Angeles-based Burger King, giving the fast food spot a '70s feel, from the outfits, paint colors, uniforms and payphone located outside. It was a trip for regular folks to walk in and hear '70s music, watch a patron use a Polaroid camera and eat beside the light of a lava lamp. See it here. Better still, the company rolled back its Facebook page for 48 hours and launched a BURGER KING YUMBO Social Hotline at 1-844-BK-YUMBO. Humble produced the spot, directed by Whitey McConnaughy.

  • Smartypants VitaminsI expected this to be an ad for something sporty and athletic, not vitamins. SmartyPants Vitamins, an all-in-one gummy vitamin for kids and adults, has launched a unique TV campaign that illustrates that taking vitamins doesn't have to be a chore. In the 60-second ad, a fit woman comes up with a unique and inexpensive way to get a cardio workout: she lets a helium-filled balloon go inside her apartment building and runs the stairs in an effort to beat it to the top. "Health shouldn't be a chore," says the ad, as the woman grabs the balloon. Then she races back to ground level and lets the balloon go again. Watch it here, created by Cactus.

  • expediaExpedia.com launched an emotional holiday video starring Santa Claus. Santa ditches the sleigh and opts for a different form of air travel: coach. In "Santa Flies Coach," viewers watch Santa navigate a bevy of airports worldwide. Not only do kids react with childlike glee when Santa waits in line, adults revert back to their childhood self when Santa strolls by. Over the course of a week, Santa traveled 19,602 miles in 49.7 hours. He went from the North Pole (via Anchorage) and flew through Honolulu, Tokyo, Dubai, Paris, Dublin, New York City, and finally Memphis, where he made his final stop to visit the kids at St. Jude Children's Hospital. This is where you grab your tissue because seeing Santa deliver Christmas gifts to children fighting life-threatening diseases will tug at your heartstrings. After visiting with the kids, Santa delivers one more gift: his Expedia+ travel rewards points to St. Jude Children's Hospital. See it here. People can donate their Expedia+ rewards points at Expedia.com/Santa. To find out more information, visit https://www.expedia.com/rewards/ and spread the word using #SantaFliesCoach. 180LA created the campaign.

  • NordStromI love shoes, but not to this extent. Nordstrom has launched a pair of TV spots showcasing its wealth of different shoe styles that are more than just functional; they evoke emotions -- most likely, expensive emotions. The "Shoes that Move You" campaign goes back to fond childhood memories of two women. In the first ad, we see a young girl who makes creative toys out of cardboard boxes. She becomes an astronaut, pirate and alpine skier. As an adult, a cardboard box still holds endless possibilities, and this time it's various shoe options. See it here. In "Cake," a young girl feels like she won the Lotto when she scores the biggest slice of birthday cake at a party. As an adult, her sweet fixation involves opening a Nordstrom shoebox. Watch it here. DDB Canada's Vancouver office created the campaign.

  • hennessyHennessy's latest brand campaign pays homage to the 20-year career of hip-hop artist and Hennessy brand ambassador, Nas. "The Ride" is a continuation of Hennessy's "Never stop. Never settle" campaign that asks consumers: "What's your Wild Rabbit?" Last year, the brand launched a campaign starring Sir Malcolm Campbell and the story of how his Wild Rabbit chase led to nine land-speed world records. The latest ad follows Nas as he chases his Wild Rabbit on a New York subway. Each time Nas moves into a new train car, viewers are transported to a new decade in the dreamlike sequence. As Nas moves, he people-watches and gathers stories and ideas, converting them into the lyrics of one of his most popular hits, "N.Y. State of Mind." The spot ends with Nas exiting the subway and entering on a stage to perform for a large crowd. "What's your Wild Rabbit?" closes the ad, seen here, created by Droga5 and directed by Martin de Thurah.

  • coachRandom iPhone App of the week:Coach has debuted its first stand-alone mobile shopping app, which focuses on the brand's limited edition collections featuring Peanuts' beloved comic strip characters etched into leather bags and accessories.  My favorite feature is the photobombing feature where you can add Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Woodstock to your pictures. There's even a quiz users can take to find out what Peanuts character they're like. The  augmented reality in-store component has the characters come to life and perform when viewed through the app's lens. The app, created by Isobar, is available for free in the App Store.

  • Papa Gino'sPapa Gino's and Super Bowl Champion Tedy Bruschi had a great time pranking customers. As consumers waited for their pizza, a large cardboard photo of the former New England Patriots player would come to life with the voice of Bruschi himself. When the pizza was ready, it was delivered to the table by none other than Bruschi himself. Check it out here, created by Full Contact Advertising. An extended version of the ad can be seen here.
