Young & Rubicam has tapped BBDO's MICHAEL PATTI as Chairman and CEO of the flagship office. Patti has worked at BBDO for 18 years, most recently as a Vice Chairman and Senior Executive Creative Director. He resigned from the New York shop on Friday and is expected to join Y&R on March 1. In his New York roles, Patti replaces Ron Bess, who shifts to a corporate role as Vice Chairman, Integration and Business Development at Y&R Group.

DraftWorldwide has hired WILLIE WILKOV as Vice President, Account Director. Over the past year and a half, Wilkov was Director of Employee Development at Leo Burnett USA. In his previous six years at Burnett, Wilkov worked in account management overseeing brand advertising, promotions and direct marketing work for Philip Morris, Motorola and Amazon.com.

KURT MUNZINGER, formerly Director of Advertising.com's New York sales office, has been named Vice President of Regional Sales for the company's northeast sales region. Entravision Communications Corporation announced that ANITA SAENZ-CARVALHO has been promoted to General Manager of its Corpus Christi, Texas television cluster, which includes UNIVISION KORO 28 and TELEFUTURA KCRP 41. Effective immediately, Saenz-Carvalho will be replacing Araceli DeLeon, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Since 1999, Saenz-Carvalho has served as the General Sales Manager/Local Sales Manager of UNIVISION KORO 28. Saenz-Carvalho has held various advertising sales positions since her career began in 1982, including several account executive positions at local television and radio stations in Corpus Christi, TX.
Thirteen-year Discovery Networks veteran JOHN FORD has resigned from his post as President of New Media, effective February 14. A successor is expected to be named in the coming weeks. During his career at Discovery, Ford launched The Learning Channel, Discovery Health and Discovery HD Theater. Ford also oversaw programming at Discovery Networks and the discovery.com website as President of the U.S. Content Group. Ford had hoped to be named president of Discovery Networks, insiders said last year. But that position went to Discovery newcomer Billy Campbell.
Euro RSCG Tatham Partners announced this week that NIKHIL BASU was named Chief Financial Officer. Euro RSCG Tatham Partners is a recently formed unit of Euro RSCG Worldwide integrating several Euro RSCG agencies within a single company. Basu was most recently in New York City as the Global CFO of CCG.XM Worldwide, the interactive network of Cordiant Communications Group PLC. Previously, Basu served in the capacity of Regional Finance Director in Jakarta for Bates Indonesia and India and then at Bates Latin America in Buenos Aires. Earlier global experience at Cordiant PLC and Saatchi & Saatchi Company PLC included acquisitions and corporate finance positions.
CHARLIE COLOMBO, a 30-year seasoned veteran of the radio business, has been appointed Executive Vice President/General Manager of Launch Radio Networks. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President at United Stations, where he was a founding partner of when the network incorporated in 1993. Over the span of his career, Colombo has served in a number of senior management positions at Banner Radio, Blair Radio and Christal Radio.
HBC New York, Inc., a subsidiary of Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation, announced the managerial appointment of SCOTT ELBERG as Director of Sales for WADO(AM) 1280 and WCAA(FM) "Latino Mix" 105.9. Most recently, Elberg was General Manager of Clear Channel's New York City radio stations, WKTU(FM) and WHTZ(FM). He joined WKTU(FM) and WHTZ(FM) in 1996 as General Sales Manager and was promoted to General Manager in 1999.
Playboy magazine, this week named DIANE SILBERSTEIN to the position of Associate Publisher/Advertising for the magazine. Silberstein joins Playboy from YAHOO! Internet Life Magazine, where she was the magazine's Publisher. She has also served as Publisher of The New Yorker and Elle, has held top positions with Allure and Vogue, and was the Senior Vice President/Group Publisher at Phase2Media, an internet advertising sales, marketing and promotional company for top Web companies such as Maxim Online, the National Hockey League, FOX, ELLE.com and Britannica.com. Silberstein began her career at Glamour magazine.

Tribune Company recently named veteran broadcast executive STEVE CARVER as Vice President/General Manager of WATL-TV (WB36), in Atlanta, Georgia. Carver is currently Regional Vice President for Tribune Television, and Vice President and General Manager of WGN-AM Radio in Chicago. The company also announced that MARK KRIESCHEN, Director of Sales at the radio station, will succeed Carver as Vice President and General Manager.

(SBGI) announced this week that BETH WORSHAM has been named General Manager for WXLV-TV (ABC 45) and WUPN-TV (UPN 48) in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point, North Carolina market. Worsham has spent the past 16 years in various sales and management positions at Sinclair's ABC affiliate, WEAR-TV. Most recently, she served as the General Sales Manager and prior to that as the Regional Sales Manager.
Boede&partners, an integrated marketing firm, this week announced the addition of four employees to its creative department: GARY BROWN, JOHN KINKEAD, KRIS BARTHOLOMEW and KIM REYNOLDS -- and the promotion of another employee, KARA HALLSTROM. Brown joins boede&partners as Senior Interactive Art Director. He has extensive Web and multimedia experience from his work at Euro RSCG DSW Partners for clients such as Intel, Iomega and Xircom. Kinkead joins the firm as Senior Copywriter and will collaborate on accounts such as Ingenix and Plantronics. Prior to boede&partners, Kinkead was a freelance writer for Grey Worldwide in San Francisco on the Cisco Systems and Papa Murphy's accounts. Kinkead also worked at Euro RSCG DSW for nearly eight years as Associate Creative Director on accounts such as Intel, Minolta and Red Hat. Bartholomew is boede&partners' newest production designer. During her four years at Euro RSCG DSW Partners, Bartholomew produced creative material for several of the agency's clients including Intel and Minolta. She will be working primarily on the Network Associates account. Reynolds joins boede&partners as an interactive director and will use her skills in multimedia and production design for clients such as Network Associates and Mercator. Hallstrom has been promoted to the role of junior copywriter from proofreader. National Cable Communications (NCC), a leading spot cable rep firm, has promoted BRUCE RAISNER and MICHELLE GOYETTE to Vice President, Customer Relations for eBusiness Applications and Vice President/Controller, respectively. Raisner is one of NCC's original employees, joining the company in May of 1985 as a Sales Assistant in its Boston sales office. MICHAEL ALFORD has been named the new Sport Sales Manager for ESPN Radio 710. He comes to ESPN from the University of Southern California where he was the Associate Athletic Director of Corporate Sales & Marketing. There he developed and negotiated sponsorship opportunities for such accounts as Gatorade, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Nextel, Nike, Pepsi and Verizon.
ROBERT L. NOVAK joins ESPN Radio 710 in Los Angeles in sports sales. A senior sales and marketing executive, Novak has had more than 25 years of broadcast, sports and internet marketing experience. His work history includes Director of Sales at Engage Media, Inc. and General Sales Manager at the Los Angeles Clippers. Robert has held a variety of sales and marketing positions such as Director of Sports Sales and Marketing at KZLA/KLAC Radio heading up Lakers Sales, and Account Executive at KMPC 710 Radio where he sold sports packages for the then, California Angels, Los Angeles Rams and UCLA football and basketball.
