Chris Brown was named president and chief executive officer of DDB New York. He currently serves as chief executive officer of DDB Group Australia, and will transition into the new role in September. Additionally, a new group structure in New York has been created and will encompass: DDB New York, Uproar@DDB, DDB Remedy, Tribal Worldwide New York, Roberts & Langer DDB and Spike DDB. Current CEO Peter Hempel will assume the new role of chairman and CEO, DDB Group New York, overseeing the entire group to ensure the agencies are collaborating and exploring joint opportunities. Brown will report jointly to Hempel and Mark O'Brien, president of DDB North America.
Wieden+Kennedy hired Yang Yeo as executive creative director of the Shanghai office, beginning August 1. Yeo most recently served as the North Asia executive creative director and China chairman of JWT Shanghai. He will fill one of the office's top creative leadership roles. Michael Simons and Achilles Li currently serve as the office's executive creative directors. Simons will leave the agency July 1, and Li, later in the summer. Yeo's creative leadership garnered international attention when he led the JWT Shanghai team to win a Cannes Gold Lion in 2008. The win was followed by leading the team to win the Cannes Grand Prix in 2011. After working in Singapore's creative industry for 10 years, BBH Asia transferred Yeo to its London head office in 1999. Yeo returned to Asia to launch agencies in Singapore and Hong Kong in 2002 for Fallon.
Diann Hamilton was named senior vice president, executive planning director at Digitas Health LifeBrands. Hamilton will be charged with overseeing executive planning strategy for all brands in the Philadelphia office. She will report to Susan Manber, executive vice president, brand strategy and planning. Most recently, Hamilton was senior vice president, co-director account planning at CDM Princeton. While there, Hamilton created brand strategy for various brands in pharmaceutical industry, including Novo Nordisk. Prior to that, she was senior vice president, worldwide account director at Ogilvy & Mather New York. Along with working on healthcare brands, Hamilton has worked on Duracell, Frito Lay, Visa USA, Cotton Inc., and Proctor & Gamble. "I'm addicted to healthcare, and believe it's one of the most dynamic areas in the industry," said Hamilton. "We're just beginning to tap into what's possible within this world. Even within the consumer advertising world, they look at healthcare as the best place to be."
Redscout hired David Mikula as creative director and Jamie Kim as director of creative production. Mikula and Kim will lead Redscout's creative department alongside Redscout's industrial design director, Gina Reimann. Both will report to Jonah Disend, Redscout's founder and CEO, and will be based in New York. Mikula, responsible for overseeing Redscout's creative department, most recently served as a creative director at Digital Kitchen. Prior to that he worked as a creative at Wieden + Kennedy. Throughout his career, Mikula has worked with brands such as Nike, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Whole Foods, Dodge and Coca-Cola. Kim is charged with leading creative production executions on behalf of Redscout and its clients. Most recently, Kim was a founding partner at WE ARE PI. Prior to that, she held roles at Wieden + Kennedy as a senior producer and AKQA as a digital producer, working on brands like TED, LEGO, Nike, Electronic Arts and the United Nations.
