  • Jake Rice

    Starcom USA hired Jake Rice as vice president, search director of its Los Angeles office, leading all accounts,with a focus on Disney, Mattel, Del Monte and Big Heart Pets. Rice joins the agency from Starcom from Gifts.com in Los Angeles where he ran the company's SEO program for the past year. Rice began his career as a systems analyst and technical writer for Amoco Corp. in Chicago. He then moved to Resolution Media in Chicago as an associate director working on Dell Computers, Discovery Channel and Sirius-XM Radio. In 2009, he joined Starcom USA as an SEO director, working on Anheuser-Busch, GM, Blackberry and Novartis. "We are so thrilled to welcome Jake back to Starcom in this new role," said Kathy Ring, president Starcom LA. "Jake will help advance the agency's industry leading vision and approach to search."

    MEC hired Jose Miranda as regional director of analytics & insights, charged with developing new data and digital solutions for existing clients as well as in new business. Miranda most recently served as data & analytics director for Havas Media Spain. He will relocate to Miami and report to Michael Jones, CEO, MEC Latin America. Miranda is responsible for nine markets in the region, and he will be part of the LatAm EXCO team. "CMOs everywhere are trying to navigate today's highly fragmented and ROI-driven media landscape," said Jones. "Jose's experience across categories such as FMCG, Automotive, Gaming, Insurance, Finance, Travel, Entertainment and Telecom, combined with his extensive knowledge of analytical techniques, will help drive innovation for our agency and our clients." Prior to working at Havas Media Spain, Miranda worked at Carat Expert and Zenith Media.

    Deutsch LA hired Joshua Hirsch as executive vice president, executive creative technology director, replacing Trevor O'Brien who has left the agency to work at a start-up company. Hirsch will lead the agency's team of 55 in-house developers, known for creating websites for brands like Volkswagen, social campaigns for Taco Bell, and digital product inventions for Esurance and Pop Secret. Previously, Hirsch was chief technology officer at Publicis Kaplan Thaler where he oversaw the agency's technology and innovation practice. His well-known creative achievement to date is his contribution to the HBO Voyeur Project while working at Big Spaceship. His team created a New York panorama that brought voyeuristic tales to life.

    Carol Lombard was named vice president, director of integrated production at Innocean. Lombard's focus at the agency will be to provide leadership and oversee the innovative production process, including broadcast, content, digital and social aspects. She will report to Greg Braun, executive creative director of Innocean. Lombard joins the agency from David&Goliath, where she spent the last 7 years managing broadcast, content and integrated production, as well as business affairs. She worked on award-winning campaigns for Kia Motors America, including the brand's first-ever Super Bowl commercial, "Joyride Dream," in 2009. Prior to that, Lombard worked at Y&R and Superior Assembly Editing Company on brands including: Mattel, Jaguar, Land Rover, Callaway Golf, Sony and General Mills.

Reilly is charged with expanding PHM's business model and deliver media strategies and programs to consumer and Healthcare Professional audiences. Currently, the media teams at Digitas Health and Razorfish Healthware represent the foundation of PHM's staff. Most recently, Reilly was managing Director at W2O Group, where he created and delivered marketing and technology programs for clients, and at Razorfish Healthware, where he was the client partner for Johnson & Johnson and supervised a portfolio of 45 brands. In addition, Reilly was a founding partner with Rock Coast Media, a full service search engine marketing agency that designed, executed and managed custom search marketing programs for healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, software, retail and travel clients.

    GroupM named Harvey Goldhersz as chief data officer and CEO of GroupM Analytics, and Phil Cowdell as North America CEO of MediaCom, a GroupM agency. Goldhersz joins GroupM from MediaCom, where he has served as vice chairman and worldwide COO for the past ten years. Prior to that, Goldhersz was founder and CEO of MediaCom Digital and CEO of Beyond Interactive, merging four separate entities -- Beyond Interactive, MediaCom Digital, media.com and Grey E-Media. Goldhersz's responsibilities at MediaCom will be absorbed by the agency's current leadership team, led by Worldwide Chairman and CEO Stephen Allan. Goldhersz has also been CEO of MediaCom North America since 2011, a role that will now be assumed by Phil Cowdell, currently president of client services at GroupM. He previously served as CEO and then chairman of Mindshare North America, leading the agency to nearly $2 billion in new business wins in less than two years.
