  • Patrick McHugh and Rob Niccolai
    KSV
    Vermont-based agency, KSV, hired Patrick McHugh as executive creative director and Rob Niccolai as client group director. Throughout his 20-year career, McHugh worked at Leo Burnett, Y&R and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. He joins KSV from Razorfish, where he led a team in the conception and development of the #UseMeLeaveMe tweeting bikes at SXSW Interactive. McHugh will oversee all creative work, including National Grid, Mass Save, State Street Corporation, State Street Global Advisors and Nellie's Cage Free Eggs. Niccolai's experience is in branding and strategic development across the energy efficiency and sustainability industries. He previously led account teams at the Shelton Group, Osborn & Barr, and UPBrand, helping guide companies in changing consumers' behavior and drawing awareness around to the importance of energy efficiency and sustainability. Niccolai will oversee the strategic work for KSV and its clients, and day-to-day management of the client group.
  • Jorge Calleja

    The Martin Agency promoted Jorge Calleja to executive creative director, up from group creative director. Calleja joined the agency in 2012 and was instrumental in bringing in the OREO business with the creation of the Wonderfilled campaign. Calleja will remain the lead on the OREO account in the U.S. and globally. In addition, he will continue to play a big role in new business. His guidance helped Martin win Chips Ahoy! and Stolichnaya vodka. He will continue to work with these two accounts in his new role. "Jorge is a world-class combination of talent, brains and passion," said Joe Alexander, chief creative officer of The Martin Agency. "He's especially adept at creating iconic campaigns, like Wonderfilled. And on top of it all, he's a joy to be around. We're lucky to have him." Calleja won two Cannes Lions and two One Show pencils in 2014. Prior to joining The Martin Agency, Calleja worked on the Coca-Cola "Open Happiness" campaign at Wieden+Kennedy as well as on Honda, Adidas, Nike and LEGO in Europe.

    Figliulo&Partners named Ted Alcarez as executive director, people & culture, a new position at the agency. Based in New York, Alcarez will be responsible for directing human resources, employee relations, operations and agency culture and report to Richard Tan, partner and COO/CFO. Alcarez has 15 years of experience working in various human resources and employee relations roles. Most recently, Alcarez worked at LBi/MRY where he was the executive director of human resources and led all employee relations efforts. Prior to that, he was the senior vice president, director of human resources at Universal McCann/Mediabrands and director of human resources at Euro RSCG (now Havas).     MEC hired Renato de Paula as regional CEO for Latin America. He replaces Michael Jones, who after 19 years with MEC, is retiring from the industry. de Paula was previously at Havas Worldwide, where he held a dual role as CEO of the offices in Mexico and Colombia and as the regional director of Havas Worldwide Digital across Latin America. He will be based in Miami and also joins MEC's global executive committee. de Paula began his career in 1988 at Ogilvy Sao Paulo and between 1991 and 1997 he worked at Wunderman. During his 15 years with Ogilvy and Ogilvy One he held senior management positions in New York, Sao Paulo and Miami. "With a rich heritage in the digital and data world, Renato is perfectly positioned to drive the future for us," said Charles Courtier, global CEO. "An inspirational and collaborative leader, with bags of energy, I am confident that he will provide the leadership to develop and thrive in this, our fastest growing region."
  • Kevin Wertz, Keith Clark, Walter Harris and Jari Auger
    Lowe Campbell Ewald
    Lowe Campbell Ewald promoted Kevin Wertz to president, up from managing director. Wertz will be responsible for the leadership of the agency's Detroit (non-automotive) and San Antonio-based accounts. In addition, Wertz will oversee Lowe Campbell Ewald's media, strategic planning, analytics, digital strategy and social media capabilities. He will divide his time between Lowe Campbell Ewald's Detroit and San Antonio offices, reporting directly to CEO Jim Palmer. Prior to Lowe Campbell Ewald, Wertz served as vice president, account director at Doner. Throughout his career he has worked with clients such as Food Network, AAA, Expedia, Progressive insurance and La-Z-Boy. In addition, Keith Clark was promoted to managing director. Clark will assume the lead role on the USAA account and also assume responsibility for managing day-to-day operations in the San Antonio office. Clark has been with Lowe Campbell Ewald for 14 years. Walter Harris was promoted to group management supervisor. Harris will be supporting Clark in his new role, leading the cross functional USAA team. Harris joined the agency in 2011 and has helped lead the USAA's brand, media and enterprise initiatives. Lastly, Jari Auger continues her role as chief financial officer and also takes on the title of chief operating officer. In addition to Auger's current responsibilities as CFO overseeing talent management, finance, accounting, IT, legal and facilities, she will now be responsible for agency operations, assuming those responsibilities previously held by Kathleen Donald who is leaving the agency after 15 years. Auger has been with Lowe Campbell Ewald for nearly 20 years and will continue to work out of the Detroit office.

    Rovio Entertainment hired Paul Chenier as head of the Americas for the Brand Partnerships and Advertising team. In his role, Chenier will oversee all advertising efforts in North America and Latin America, continue to grow Rovio's direct sales team. He comes to Rovio from IGN and AskMen, where he worked for 8 years, serving most recently as vice president of national brand sales.
