  • Peter Levin
    McCann Detroit
    McCann Detroit named Peter Levin as executive vice president, executive digital creative director, a new position. Levin will work closely with Robin Chrumka and Mike Stocker to oversee the agency's overall creative and digital work for all clients, including ALDI, Ameriprise Financial, Priority Health, MGM Grand Detroit, General Motors and Pure Michigan. Most recently Levin worked at Team Detroit as senior vice president, group creative director, digital shopper marketing, where he led Ford-branded online shopper marketing initiatives and directed all original digital content. Levin began his advertising career as a copywriter working on websites for Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge. After that, he created successful digital, mobile, TV, radio and print campaigns for Ford, Lincoln, Salvation Army and General Motors' XM Satellite Radio partnership. "Peter knows how to start the right conversations with customers in the right channels," said Mel Smart, executive vice president, general manager, McCann Detroit. "His extensive background and his proven track record of spearheading effective campaigns for major global brands make him the ideal candidate to help us continue to raise the bar on our creative product, as well as to help place us firmly at the forefront of the rapidly evolving digital arena."

    Erwin Penland
    Erwin Penland promoted Joe Saracino to president, succeeding founder Joe Erwin. He will move from his role of chief client officer January 1, 2016. Saracino joined the agency in 2011 as chief marketing officer. "Being named Erwin Penland's new president is an honor," said Saracino. "The agency is poised for growth and I'm excited to have the chance to lead an amazing and talented group of people at EP. In an industry that's constantly evolving, it makes sense for us to do the same. We have been and will continue to be focused on driving our offerings in the creative, digital, content and experiential spaces as we provide the toolbox our clients need to succeed."
  • Kristin Keefe, Daniel Viedma and Michele Bavitz
    Firstborn
    Firstborn promoted Kristin Keefe to senior vice president, production & program management. In her new position, Keefe will be responsible for reshaping the agency's approach to client relations while managing its team of agency producers and program managers. She will continue to serve on Firstborn's executive leadership team and report to Dan LaCivita, CEO of Firstborn. Firstborn also hired two new employees: Daniel Viedma was named associate tech director and Michele Bavitz as associate program director. Viedma joins the agency from R/GA, where he was a senior software engineer overseeing web platforms for Nike and Beats by Dre. At Firstborn, he will provide technical guidance and oversight of all digital projects. He will report to Eric Decker, vice president of technology. Most recently, Bavitz was an executive vice president, account director at MK Creative Media Marketing, leading the shop's Hachette Book Group and Random House businesses as well as projects with Turner, Showtime and PepsiCo. In her new role, she will work on Firstborn's Mountain Dew and PepsiCo accounts and report to Keefe.

    Lyle Yetman joined McKinney as group creative director on CarMax and ESPN. He makes the move to North Carolina from California, where he most recently served as creative director at Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners. Yetman began at the agency as a copywriter and became a creative director on award-winning work for MINI, Priceline and DraftKings.com. During his 11 years at BSSP, he also worked on Converse, Google, Chipotle, Sprite and El Pollo Loco. "I'd heard a lot about Lyle and his work before he decided to make the move to the Triangle," said Jonathan Cude, chief creative officer of McKinney. "He has a passion for the industry and for finding the best ways to connect brands to what people really care about. That's a killer combination."
  • James McKenna, Matthew Trego, Derek Anderson, Brad Gale, Maria Schoonover, Garth Knutson, Elise Davis and Tim Biggins
    Publicis Seattle
    Publicis Seattle hired James McKenna and Matthew Trego as creative directors, working on the T-Mobile account. They will report to Jason Lucas, executive creative director, overseeing the T-Mobile business. Most recently, McKenna was a creative director at TBWA/Chiat/Day in Los Angeles, working on Disney, Grey Goose, Jimmy Dean, Reebok and Google. McKenna also held several roles at Microsoft, most recently as creative director of Global Creative Solutions where he conceptualized interactive advertising campaigns, and oversaw the production of global digital advertising and branded experiences. Trego joins Publicis Seattle from McKinney, where he served as an associate creative director, helping to launch the SEC Network for ESPN. While there, Trego also produced work for Mizuno Golf, EAS Sports Nutrition, Big Boss Brewing Company, CenturyLink, and Sherwin-Williams. In addition to McKenna and Trego joining the agency, Publicis Seattle also hired six new hires in the creative and account management departments. Derek Anderson was named associate creative director, charged with working on the T-Mobile account. Brad Gale was named account director. Gale re-joins the agency after stints at DNA Seattle, MRM//McCann, and leading business development for a web design and digital shop in Salt Lake City. Maria Schoonover joins the agency as account director on the agency's American Girl and KinderCare accounts. Previously, she was client-side at the Universal Technical Institute, Carmichael Lynch and The Martin Agency. Garth Knutson was tapped as account director on the T-Mobile account. Elise Davis was named senior strategist, tasked with working on Kraft Heinz and other accounts. Before joining Publicis, Davis was a strategist at Ogilvy Chicago on the SC Johnson account. Lastly, Tim Biggins was named senior broadcast producer. In his new role, he'll work on T-Mobile's live-action productions for TV and radio.
