  • Mollie Partesotti and Alison Kaplan
    CP+B LA
    CP+B LA hired Mollie Partesotti as global group strategy director and Alison Kaplan as group account director to work on the global Infiniti account. Partesotti joins the agency from TBWA/Media Arts Lab where she was group strategy director across Apple products and services, specifically iPhone, iPad and Mac. While there, she led strategy for global product launches and brand communications efforts spanning more than 20 markets and six global Media Arts Lab offices. Last year, her work on the "Shot on iPhone" campaign was awarded a Cannes Grand Prix. In addition to the tech sector, Partesotti has worked in and led strategy, research and insights across automotive, travel, financial services, CPG, beauty, sports, entertainment, fashion and media, for brands such as MTV, ESPN, Nike, Delta Air Lines and Bank of America. Kaplan comes to CP+B LA from MullenLowe in Los Angeles, where she was vice president, group account director, leading the Patron Spirits portfolio of products. In 2013, she was part of the Mullen pitch team that won the Acura business. Kaplan began her career working on Lexus at Team One Advertising, before working at agencies across the country on brands including Jaguar, Walmart and the American Cancer Society.

    LAPIZ tapped Luciana Cani as senior vice president, executive creative director, overseeing the agency's creative team. Cani will lead creative output for clients that include Advanced Auto Parts, Allstate, Purina and the Mexico Tourism Board. Most recently, she spent the past nine years spent at Leo Burnett Lisbon overseeing creative work for clients like Samsung, Atlantico Bank and the Portuguese National Railway. Prior to Leo Burnett, the Brazilian-native worked as an art director at agencies in Sao Paulo, Brazil including Leo Burnett, Ogilvy & Mather and Grey. "Luciana's collaborative and transformational leadership is a perfect fit for LAPIZ," said Gustavo Razzetti, managing director of LAPIZ. "Her innovation-forward approach will boost our outsider thinking to continue driving great results for our clients."

    CP+B Boulder named KT Thayer as creative director, where he will work on a variety of accounts. Thayer joins the agency from ViTRO in San Diego where he spent the past 14 years, most recently as executive creative director. While there, he worked on ASICS athletics, Taylor Guitars and Newcastle Brown Ale, among other accounts. "CP+B has always been known for swinging for the fences and right now the agency seems to have a special kind of momentum," said Thayer.

    Rachel Mercer will join Deutsch New York on May 31 as vice president, digital strategy director. She will be charged with helping to grow the agency's digital, social and innovation strategy practice. Mercer will report to Andrew Dawson, chief strategy officer of Deutsch New York. She replaces Scott Lindenbaum, who is transferring to the LA office as senior vice president, director of digital strategy, products and platforms, beginning June 6. Most recently, Mercer was the strategy & innovation director at The Upside and, prior to that, she was with Made by Many in London, leading development, user insights, strategy and multipartner relationships. Before that, Mercer worked in Deutsch's LA office. "Rachel's talent was so immediate, my first thought was, 'I wish she started yesterday,'" said Dawson. "She has diverse strategic experience, ranging from innovation consulting work to both digital and traditional strategy, as well as being a genuinely multifaceted thinker, collaborator and leader."
