    Watching TV While Shopping A recently released out-of-home media study, conducted by Nielsen Media Research for PRN, revealed that in-store broadcast television networks build brand equity, customer satisfaction, and shopper loyalty with customized programming for retailers. PRN is a retail media network which creates in-store television and interactive networks that broadcast news and product information, entertainment, and advertising to consumers while they shop. Based on study results and network growth, PRN estimates these broadcast networks generate average monthly gross impressions of more than 70.6 million viewers for the Wal-Mart TV Network and 10.1 million viewers for the Home Electronics …

    46 Million Holiday Shoppers This Year Jupiter Media Metrix reports that 2001 holiday online retail and travel sales will reach approximately $11.9 billion—an 11 percent increase over last year. Jupiter analysts expect to see 46 million people shopping online consumers allocating a greater percentage of their holiday budget to online shopping. An October 2001 Jupiter Consumer Survey reveals that only 14% of those that plan to buy gifts online this season believe they will spend less than 10% of their budget online, compared with 18% in 2000 and 61% in 1999.     Magazine Advertising A Slow Month The latest release from the Publishers Information Bureau (PIB) shows total magazine advertising revenue for the month of October closed at $1,629,475,871, a 9.6% decrease from last year. Advertising pages for October were 23,237, down 16.8% from last year. Year-to-date, advertising revenue decreased 3.4%, closing at $13,349,187,089, and ad pages were 197,251, down 10.1% over last year.
