Pardon Inc. - Senior Director, Digital Ad Sales and Partnerships

Pardon, Inc. is expanding the leadership team of its in-house Digital Services organization with the addition of a Senior Director, Digital Ad Sales & Partnerships.  Pardon, Inc. publishes engaging and insightful content across categories such as travel, lifestyle, and learning. It operates contemporary digital brands including Likemind, The Discoverer Group, and Nice News.


  • Likemind operates brands such as Inspiring Quotes, Interesting Facts, Travel Quiz, and History Quiz.

  • The Discoverer Group is responsible for its flagship brand - The Discoverer, which provides awe-seekers with the inspiration to fuel their next epic adventures.  More Discoverer Group brands are in the works.

Pardon, Inc’s in-house Digital Services organization’s core mission is to build a brighter web.  Its in-house services include Sales (direct and programmatic), Revenue Operations, Audience Growth, Data & Analytics, Privacy/Compliance, and Strategic Optimization.  It also oversees enterprise wide initiatives and is the primary digital strategic planning partner for all brands.


Working closely with the COO and other leadership team members, you will play an integral role in unlocking and enhancing our direct sales channel across email, web, data, and other mediums.  As the go-to direct sales executive in our ecosystem, you will activate your strong list of relationships from the start while also building out the direct sales strategy, capabilities, and organization.


You are a perfect addition to our leadership team as we enter growth mode if you currently have a strong book of business with contacts at both agencies and clients in the digital media space and have a desire to progress towards building out a department/team with touch points across the organization.  This role will set the tone for our direct sales efforts so we are looking for someone that will reinforce a culture of rigor, thoughtfulness, and operational excellence.


Accountabilities:

  • Lead the company in direct sales and partnerships efforts externally and internally across the organization

  • Own our external direct sales activity, which includes prospecting, pipelines, optimization, upselling, and renewals

  • Own our internal direct sales channel enhancement by ideating and executing on the creation of ad products, capabilities, and functionality that external clients desire

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and formulate shifts in forward-looking strategy

  • Drive strategic planning for your function (and give feedback on other functions’ plans)

  • Act as a cultural champion for rigor, curiosity, inquisitiveness, and a performance mindset.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience selling advertising in the email and web space to agencies and brands

  • Extensive experience building relationships with clients that progress towards long-term partnerships

  • Extensive active list of contacts at agencies and brands to activate and hit the ground running

  • Experience with utilizing a CRM system for prospecting and pipeline management

  • Experience with sales and product strategy

  • Experience working across departments in order to build products and execute campaigns

  • Desire to continue booking business directly while building a new sales channel

  • Knowledge of industry trends towards 1st party data and the privacy/compliance landscape
