Absolut First: Ads Run Locally During Grammys

Almost two years after Absolut vodka--a staple of magazine back covers--ran its first TV spots, the brand was the subject of an ad during Sunday's Grammys telecast. The spots did not run nationally on the CBS network, but on local stations in 15 of the country's largest markets--including CBS-owned stations. Absolut marketer Pernod Ricard said it marked "the first time a spirits brand ad has appeared on CBS prime-time programming in certain major markets." The ad ran after 10 p.m. -- David Goetzl
