Jeremy Halbreich has been named chairman of the Sun-Times Media Group, as well as interim CEO. He replaces Cyrus Freidheim, who announced his resignation as CEO and president after a takeover of the
company's board by dissident shareholders, reports the Chicago Sun-Times
. Halbreich, a former GM of The Dallas Morning News
, will grapple with the company's ongoing losses, in addition
to enormous federal tax liability incurred by former owner Conrad Black, now in prison for corporate theft.
