The company's SmartAd format launched in November scans video content for "blank" spaces--such as a bare wall or open sky--and runs an overlay ad there without interrupting the action. The aim is to provide an option less intrusive the pre-rolls and standard overlay ads appearing at the bottom of the screen.
RedOrbit, which targets space, science and technology enthusiasts, will also have the option of using Keystream's SmartAd system for running pre-rolls and banner overlays with video on the site.--Mark Walsh
