Carl's Jr. Revives Chili Dogs

  • March 19, 2009
The Carl's Jr. chain is putting chili dogs back on its menu--at least for a limited time.

The QSR's founder, Carl N. Karcher, started the business in 1941 by selling hot dogs and chili dogs from a cart in Los Angeles. The dogs remained on the chain's menu into the 1990s, when they were eclipsed by burgers.

The new promotion features Jumbo Chili Dogs--Farmer John hot dogs topped with spicy beef chili, mustard and chopped onions--at a price of two for $3 at participating locations.--Karlene Lukovitz
