NBCOlympics.com was the top gainer for the week ending September 24 on the Media Metrix list of top ten gainers, with 544,000 average daily unique visitors - a 418.6% increase over its prior three-week average. Throughout the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, traffic to NBCOlympics.com as well as Olympics.com also increased substantially week over week. From the prior week to the week of the opening ceremony, traffic to NBColympics.com and Olympics.com increased 445.1% to 266,000 average daily unique visitors and 554.8% to 102,000 average daily unique visitors, respectively. Traffic continued to increase from the week of the opening ceremony through the first full week of the Games, with NBCOlympics.com and Olympics.com increasing 104.6% to 544,000 average daily unique visitors and 309.4% to 416,000 average daily unique visitors, respectively. This week's winners: Yahoo! once again found itself first on the Media Metrix top 10 sites list for the week ending September 24 with 10,672,000 average daily unique visitors. It was followed by MSN.com with 9,450,000, Hotmail.com (4,933,000), Microsoft.com (4,510,000), Netscape.com (4,440,000), Passport.com (4,080,000), AOL.com (3,518,000), Lycos.com (2,095,000), Real.com (2,056,000), and Go.com (1,993,000). NBCOlympics.com was the top gainer for the week ending September 28 with a 418.6% increase from the previous week. It was followed by CartoonNetwork.com (175.7%), PayPal.com (128.7%), Flipside.com (109.4%), TheStreet.com (100.5%), WSJ.com (97.8%), DirectNic.com (96.7%), CitiBank.com (78.4%), SunTimes.com (74.4%), and WinAmp.net (72.3%).
