CNBC and Golf A Perfect Match

The CNBC network delivered record household viewership this past weekend with its coverage of the Senior PGA Tour MasterCard Championship in Kona, Hawaii (January 20 and 21, 6-8 p.m. ET). The debut of the "SENIOR PGA TOUR on CNBC" delivered 71% more viewers (197% more Men 25-54) on Sunday than ESPN did with its coverage of the same event a year ago (298,000 HH vs. 174,000 HH). Garnering a .3/241,000 households for the Saturday/Sunday average, CNBC realized a 134% increase in household viewership over the same time period last year and a 62% boost in delivery over the prior 4 week average for the 6-8 p.m. weekend time period.

CNBC's next broadcast of the "SENIOR PGA TOUR on CNBC" will be the Royal Caribbean Classic, Feb. 3 and 4, 6-8 p.m. ET. Early round coverage will be carried on PAX TV on Friday, Feb. 2 from 1-3 p.m. ET/PT. The Key Biscayne, Fla., tournament is the first full field event of the year. The tournament features the modified stableford scoring system, which rewards players for aggressive play.
