Google CEO Tapped For Obama's Tech Council

Google CEO Eric Schmidt has been appointed to the President Obama's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, reports Reuters. The 20-member group is comprised of leading scientists and engineers who will help formulate policy in science, technology and innovation. Schmidt has a Ph.D. in computer science. Craig Mundie, Microsoft's head of research, is also in the group.
