Sears To Launch Social Networking Sites

  • May 8, 2009
Sears, which has been unable to ignite consumer enthusiasm in its brick-and-mortar stores, says it will launch two new social networking sites -- interactive platforms to "allow customers to share their insights, experiences and product reviews."

At MySears.com and MyKmart.com, customers, associates and vendors will be encouraged to "register, create a profile, upload photos, share their personal experiences and ideas, and connect with each other."

The company says nearly all the content on the sites will be written and contributed by customers, and that the social sites will be highly integrated with sears.com and kmart.com.--Sarah Mahoney
