Google Integrates Bing Into Analytics Reports

Google said Monday that Microsoft's Bing search engine has begun sending traffic to Web sites with Google Analytics installed. Bing shows up as a referring site in the Traffic Sources reports, so the Mountain View, Calif. company is working on an update that will include Bing under the default list of search engines in Google Analytics.

For those who can't wait for the update, Google provides a line of code that marketers can add to the Google Analytics tracking code as a temporary solution, Sebastian Tonkin, Google Analytics Team wrote in a blog post. The workaround code -- pageTracker._addOrganic("bing", "q"); -- is recommended for advanced users only. -- Laurie Sullivan
