LGE MobileComm, BART Team On Recycling

  • June 9, 2009
LGE MobileComm is partnering with Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to make recycling cell phones and accessories easier. The consumer electronics company has set up recycling receptacles in six BART stations that encourage regular riders to recycle. The company has also established a "Txt to Recycle" program, in which people can receive a prepaid recycling envelope sent straight to their house.

"It is our job to stay in tune and proactive as eco-insights develop," said Ehtisham Rabbani, vice president of product strategy and marketing for LG Mobile Phones, in a statement. "Being eco-friendly doesn't happen overnight. This is a process LG is whole-heartedly committed to and with the expansion of ecoMobilization and partnerships such as ours with BART, we can already feel a difference."--Aaron Baar
