Stella Artois Backs Film Institute

Belgian beer brand Stella Artois this year is sponsoring a number of American Film Institute events, including the Life Achievement Award honoring Michael Douglas and the 23rd annual AFI Fest taking place Oct. 30 - Nov. 7 in Los Angeles.

Most recently, the brand created the Stella Artois Short Film Project at film networking site Triggerstreet.com, which discovers and showcases emerging filmmaking talent, and awards one independent filmmaker a $50,000 cash prize for a short film displaying the themes of "sacrifice" or "perfection."--Karl Greenberg
