Real Media, a global provider of marketing solutions to the digital advertising industry, has announced that it has signed an agreement to exclusively represent the alternative newsweekly websites
owned by Village Voice Media, Inc. and The Ruxton Group for online ad sales. There are 34 sites in all. Seven of the sites are operated by Village Voice Media, Inc. and are companions to their offline
publications, which have a combined circulation of nearly 700,000. The Ruxton Group Web sites are companions to 27 alternative newsweeklies, published in 18 of the top 20 DMAs, with a combined
circulation of more than 2.5 million.
The sites will become part of Real Media's America's Interactive Media (AIM) Portfolio. AIM is comprised of local print, and broadcast, media brands in the top
20 U.S. DMAs. The addition of these alternative weeklies will allow advertisers on AIM to more precisely target the younger audiences of these properties. - Adam Bernard
