Safety Labels For Toys Sold Online

  • February 16, 2001
On Wednesday the House of Representatives announced a new bill that would seek to require safety labels for certain children's toys advertised online. The bill would require toy manufacturers to provide the same safety warnings now required by law on toy packaging on Internet sites where the same toys are sold. The measure already has won the backing of the US Public Interest Research Group and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. - Anya Khait
