Obama To Tap Baker For FCC Seat

The White House has said it will nominate Meredith Attwell Baker for the Republican FCC seat vacated by Deborah Taylor Tate. Baker is the daughter-in-law of former Secretary of State James Baker, a longtime Bush family friend. Previously, Baker was acting head of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, leaving that post in January.
