Foot Locker Taps JC Penney Exec As New Chief

Foot Locker, Inc. says it has hired Ken C. Hicks, 56, president and chief merchandising office of JC Penney, as its news president and CEO.

Hicks, who begins his new post in mid-August, replaces Matthew D. Serra, 64, who will continue as chairman of the board until his retirement in January.

JC Penney says that Myron E. (Mike) Ullman, III, its chairman/CEO, will assume Hicks' responsibilities while it searches for a replacement.--Sarah Mahoney
