Clarification: Ad Pages Are Up At 'The Week'

  • July 20, 2009
An article which ran in Monday's edition of Media Daily News titled "PIB: Mags Hurting, But Domestic, Celeb Titles Stabilize" stated that the newsweekly category saw average ad pages decline in the first half of 2009. However, not all the titles included in the newsweekly category saw ad pages decline. Specifically, ad pages at The Week are up for the year-to-date. Compared to last year, ad pages at The Week increased 19% in the first quarter and 5.3% in the second quarter, for an overall increase of 11.3% to 276 pages in the first half of 2009. It should be noted that The Week is just one of 11 magazines -- out of the 242 titles tracked by PIB -- to see ad pages increase in the first half of 2009.
