Hyundai To Bow Another Premium Car In U.S.

  • August 12, 2009
Hyundai announced at this week's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance that it will launch a premium car above the brand's current high-end model, Genesis.

The car, which Hyundai has sold in Korea as the Equus, is being shown at the event on Monterey, Calif., and also showed it at the New York Auto Show this year.

John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America president and CEO, said the response has been so strong the company decided to bring it to the U.S.

The Equus has been the company's flagship in Korea for 10 years. The company says the new car will be sold in the U.S. beginning in late 2010. Pricing, packaging, specifications, and the final name of the car for the U.S. market will be announced closer to launch.--Karl Greenberg

Wow. The car looks nice, I think it will sell. Maybe not in Detroit (where I am from) but I think on the west coast people will by the car.
