The Emmy Award-winning ABC comedy series "Spin City" won its time period (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) last night in adults 18-49, establishing a season high 7.0 rating, with a 16 share, according to the Fast National ratings provided by Nielsen Media Research, topping NBC's "The West Wing" (6.9/16) and beating part two of the CBS miniseries "American Tragedy" by 100% (7.0 rating vs. 3.5) and an original episode of "The $treet" on FOX by 233% (7.0 vs. 2.1). The 'Blind Faith' episode of "Spin City," starring Charlie Sheen and Heather Locklear, finished first in its time period in all other key demographic ratings measurements and demonstrated continued week-to-week and year-to-year growth in adults 18-49.

In addition to its time period victory in adults 18-49, "Spin City" outperformed "The West Wing" by +34% in adults 18-34 (6.7 vs. 5.0), by +38% in men 18-34 (6.2 vs. 4.5), by +27% in women 18-34 (7.1 vs. 5.6) and by 3% in men 18-49 (6.2 vs. 6.0), and equaled its performance in women 18-49 (7.8 vs. 7.8). In those six advertiser-coveted ratings measurements, "Spin City" beat part two of the CBS miniseries "American Tragedy" and FOX's "The $treet" combined.

"Spin City" also continued its week-to-week growth in adults 18-49, up +13% (7.0 vs. 6.2) from last week's highly promoted episode featuring a guest appearance by Regis Philbin.

Year-to-year, "Spin City" is significantly ahead of its November 1999 sweeps average in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. For the first two weeks of the November 2000 sweep, "Spin City" is averaging a 6.6/15 in adults 18-49 rating/share, up +29% versus its November 1999 average of 5.1/14. In adults 18-34, "Spin City's" 6.4/17 for the first two weeks of this sweep represents a +56% increase versus November 1999 (4.1/12).
