broadcastingcable.com - ABC's celebrity version of "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?" helped it to a Wednesday night win over NBC. Millionaire drew 24.5 million viewers, but the rest of ABC's Wednesday
night lineup showed renewed strength. "Spin City" scored its highest rating since Charlie Sheen's debut in Michael J. Fox's role, a 7.0 rating, 16 share among adults 18-49 in Nielsen fast national
numbers. It held most of the 17 million viewer lead-in from "Drew Carey" which hit a 7.8/18. Gideon's Crossing resuscitated to a 5.1/13.
NBC's "West Wing" projected its fictional portrait of
democratic stability at a steady 6.6/15, powering the peacock to its second-place finish, followed by Law & Order at 7.1/19. Meanwhile, CBS's "Bette" continued to bomb, hitting a season-bottom 3.0/9.
CBS's "American Tragedy" mini-series rehashing the O.J. Simpson trial slumped to a slow finish with a 3.8/8. Fox's "Normal, Ohio" didn't do much better, at a 3.6/9. And "The $treet" appears to be
going underground, with a 2.1/5 among 18-49ers.
