IVillage Nabs Glam Sales Exec

Joe Lagani

Former Glam Media executive Joe Lagani has been named the senior vice president of ad sales at rival iVillage.

Beginning October 1, Lagani will lead all of iVillage Networks' sales efforts, with oversight of display, sponsorship and content integration revenue. He will report to Jodi Kahn, EVP of iVillage, and Peter Naylor, SVP of NBC Universal digital ad sales.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and trusted consumer brand that reaps tremendous benefits from being a part of a major media and entertainment company," said Lagani.

Marking the first phase of a total site relaunch, iVillage earlier this month launched a new entertainment site focused on celebrity news, movies and television shows for women and their children. The focus will remain on community, according to Angela Matusik, iVillage's chief content executive, who recently joined iVillage from People.com and is overseeing the editorial direction of the entire site.

Throughout the NBC Universal-owned site, women are being encouraged to weigh in and share their opinions with others. From tools like the Fall Entertainment Guide for parents to features like the Celebrity Time Out poll, the site is designed to facilitate dialogue.

iVillage Networks presently reaches roughly 20 million unique visitors per month, and is the digital anchor of Women At NBCU, the company's female-targeted ad sales and marketing initiative.

Through iVillage, Oxygen, "Today" and Bravo, NBCU claims to reach 95% of all female consumers every month.

Prior to spending two years at Glam Media, most recently as head of client sales, Lagani spent three years as VP, publisher at Conde Nast's House & Garden at Conde Nast.
