Universal Orlando Resort Debuts New Web Site

  • October 9, 2009
Universal Orlando Resort has created a new Web site that is focused on helping guests plan a more personalized vacation experience.

UniversalOrlando.com allows visitors to customize their vacation to fit their personal interests and needs. The site includes relevant content and offers based on information the users provide, such as their point of origin, date of visit and composition of their group. For example, a mom with young children who is planning a vacation to Universal Orlando can be guided to kid-friendly options such as information about Seuss Landing at Universal's Islands of Adventure or showtimes for "A Day in the Park with Barney" at Universal Studios. Couples vacationing without children may instead be guided to nightlife options at Universal's City Walk or spa treatments at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel.

Consumers can create customized maps to help guide them through Universal's theme parks when they arrive. The site features a new, easy-to-use, expansive interactive 3-D map of Universal Orlando where guests can explore each of the resort's experiences including photos and video clips of actual rides and shows. The animated map shows both Universal Orlando theme parks, major City Walk venues and the three on-site hotels.

Other new additions include feedback from actual guests and categories of helpful information (i.e., ride height requirements, newest attractions, casual dining versus fine dining options, showtimes, etc.) The new site design was developed in collaboration with Moving Interactive (www.movinginteractive.com), an international digital product development firm.--Tanya Irwin
