Sinclair Broadcast Group reports that it expects net broadcast revenue results for the three months ended September 30, 2009 to drop less than previously expected. In August, the company reported that
its outlook was for a 15.7% decline as compared to third-quarter 2008. Now, it expects 3Q net broadcast revenues to be approximately $136 million, or 9.4% lower than the same period last year. Final
third-quarter results will be released Nov. 4. David Amy, executive vice president and CFO of Sinclair, credited the Cash for Clunkers program, higher political ad spending on health care and
state-related issues, higher retrans revenues and increased ad spending for the new numbers.
