NetZero, Inc., a provider of free Internet access services and targeted marketing solutions, today announced that it has experienced unprecedented user growth in recent weeks as many of its competitors close their doors.

Since the company last reported its user count, as of Sept. 30, 2000, its registered user base has increased by 23%, adding more than 1.3 million new registered users and bringing its current total to approximately 7 million. Of the total registered users, approximately 3.3 million used the service in the last 31 days ("monthly active users"), representing a more than 40% increase over the 2.3 million monthly active users in September 2000. These figures are as of today and are not indicative of the total user count that the company will report for its quarter ending Dec. 31, 2000.
