Sears Offers Free Credit Scores To Cardholders

In a new twist on the rapidly changing credit card market, Sears is offering its credit-card holders free access to their credit scores.

The Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based company says it will also create monthly sales just for cardholders, as well as a new Platinum MasterCard, which includes a rewards program, offering a point for every dollar spent at Sears.

Earlier this year, Sears also reintroduced layaway plans, and it has also launched a new Christmas Club Card program, with 3% bonuses added to funds set aside by Nov. 14.--Sarah Mahoney
