CBS Wins Nielsen Ratings Race

CBS had seven of the top ten shows in the latest Nielsen Media Research ratings.

For the week ending June 3, 60 Minutes was the top show, earning a 20 share with nearly 11 million viewers. Other top CBS shows included CSI, Everybody Loves Raymond and Touched by an Angel.

ABC won the #2 and #3 slots with two episodes of Millionaire.

The only other top 10 show not on CBS was Sunday's NBA playoff final between the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks on NBC. The game earned a 15 share with nearly 9 million viewers.

Sports led the way among the top cable shows for the week, including the NBA playoffs and WWF entertainment wrestling. Other top cable shows included Sunday Movie III, Law and Order Sun Special, Rugrats and Jag.

The top syndicated shows were Friends, Seinfeld and Frasier.

CBS led all networks with a 12 share, followed by NBC, 11, and ABC, 9. Fox, UPN, WB and PAX followed with shares of 4 or lower.

While CBS won last week's battle, ABC continues to hold a slim season to date lead, with a 15 share followed by CBS and NBC with 14.
