Wal-Mart Cuts Prices On Hams And Hi-Def

Wal-Mart Stores, making good on its promises to steadily lower prices throughout the holiday season, announced a new round of rollbacks on everything from high-def electronics to holiday dinners.

In its Hi-Def for the Holidays promotions, which kicks off Saturday, the Bentonville, Ark.-based chain is lowering the price of a Sony 46" HDTV with PS3 bundle to $958 (a $500 savings); 32" Vizio LCD TV to $398, and a Magnavox Blu-ray Disc Player to $78, and is also cutting prices on many Blu-ray movies.

Grocery specials include reduced prices on hickory smoked, spiral cut half hams and pumpkin pies, and complete-meal plans for $4 a person.--Sarah Mahoney
