NBC To Produce 18 Pilots In 2010

  • January 4, 2010
NBC wants to change is future, since it has endured eight straight declines in ratings after moving Jay Leno to 10 p.m. The net plans to increase production of new shows to the most since 2003 to reverse seven straight seasons of declining ratings, reports Bloomberg. The 18 pilots planned for the season starting in September 2010 compare with 11 that were made before the current season. More new shows increase the odds of developing hits, say Angela Bromstad, NBC prime-time entertainment president.

Want some help developing hits? No cop shows, no emergency room / compassionate doctor shows, NOTHING that draws on the original Gong Show premise and no re-hashing of "funny" content from the web. Now, let's see some real creativity, you overpaid hacks.

18 pilots? By my reckoning that's about one pilot per viewer.
